TYPE: Full-time, hourly (non-exempt)

Knox County Homeless Coalition is seeking a full-time Operations & Development Coordinator to work with an experienced team to support HR, staff trainings, data entry, fundraising, communications, and special events. The Coordinator will be actively involved in the day-to-day activities of the Operations and Development departments, and will work closely with Knox County Homeless Coalition staff to ensure clients, staff and donors receive excellent support. We are seeking a candidate who is organized, friendly, detail-oriented, computer savvy, and an excellent communicator with strong writing skills, a sense of humor, and a passion for our mission. RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide general administrative support to a busy, mission-driven nonprofit organization, including managing a variety of inquiries, correspondence, and scheduling requests
  • Maintain and organize KCHC records and filing systems
  • Assist with miscellaneous tasks and errands, as needed
  • Work as a team member to support KCHC initiatives and programs
  • Under supervision of the COO:
    • implement HR policies and maintain records to support the hiring of new staff, exiting of departing staff, and provide a helpful, caring environment for all staff to thrive
    • Support development and implementation of staff orientation, trainings, and professional development opportunities
    • Monitor time sheets, track staff time off, and prepare payroll for processing
    • Support the COO to ensure that KCHC is meeting all HR and legal compliance requirements, including management of mandatory and voluntary benefits
  • Under supervision Development Director:
    • support execution of events, appeals, and other communications with donors and the public
    • Coordinate and manage distribution of e-newsletters and keep web content updated
    • Assist with the preparation and distribution of press releases and other PR efforts
    • Track detailed donor contact and history records in our fundraising database (Little Green Light), working closely with the Operations team to ensure accurate financial tracking

QUALIFICATIONS:

Work Experience

  • 2+ years experience working in administrative positions
  • Knowledge of HR and compliance, a plus
  • Knowledge of fundraising, marketing, or special events management, a plus

Educational Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree, or High School degree with college level writing skills

Qualifications

  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, communications, and project management skills with an attention to detail
  • Competency using MS Office and Google suite applications, as well as comfort learning new data systems and maintaining detailed, accurate, digital and print records
  • Familiarity with CRM or fundraising database systems
  • Knowledge of web publishing (Mail Chimp & Word Press) tools, a plus
  • Confident, professional writer able to quickly draft email correspondence, as well as content appropriate for public distribution
  • Ability to work with and communicate effectively with people from diverse backgrounds
  • Self-motivated and capable of completing projects and assignments independently
  • Flexibility to work an occasional night or weekend event
  • Personable, friendly, respectful, positive team player with a sense of humor

JOB SUMMARY: Knox County Homeless Coalition is seeking Overnight Support Staff for our Hospitality House Family Shelter. This is an entry-level position in a growing and exciting organization with opportunity for advancement for team players who demonstrate commitment, passion, and dedication. Overnight staff is responsible for ensuring a safe and secure environment for all shelter residents. Candidates should have a caring heart and be comfortable maintaining good boundaries while working with people in crisis. High School diploma or equivalent required. Experience working in residential programs, client support, health and human services or the medical field a plus. Looking for a team player with an excellent attitude, a desire to learn and grow and commitment to helping families learn to help themselves. This position requires good judgment, flexibility, and the ability to multitask. Knox County Homeless Coalition is committed to team development and offers a supportive, respectful culture with comprehensive health benefits available for full-time employees. Full time, part time and per diem overnight positions are currently available—$12-$14 per hour based on experience.

JOB SUMMARY: In search of a self-propelled, yet team oriented individual.  Someone interested in supporting individuals and families who are facing homelessness in the Mid-Coast area.  This candidate should be interested in collaborating with a large network of community support, and encompass the ability to be creative, persistent, and kind. Knox County Homeless Coalition embraces an ambitious mission to curb homelessness and provide second chances to families with dignity and respect.

The ideal Case Manager candidate will have 3-5 years of case management experience with relevant training in the human service/mental health field. BA in social work or related field required. This position requires the ability to prioritize while on the go, multi task, and adapt quickly in a constantly changing environment while providing the highest level of professional care to individuals in trauma. Must be a team player and work well with peers and community partners. Knowledge of community resources and services for children and adolescents a plus. Comprehensive health and benefits package available for this full-time position.
